Off-leash dog areas, or dog parks, provide a community setting in which people can gather and socialize and where they can observe the interaction of groups of dogs at play. Dog parks allow owners and their dogs to spend time together and offer dogs a space for play and companionship with others.
Suffolk County is fortunate to have a number of dog parks to which you can bring your furry friend.
It is important to consult the park's guidelines before bringing your dog, as each will likely have rules specific to that park. Equally as important is to make sure your dog is up to date on vaccines, particularly against diseases that can be transmitted from dog to dog.
